In an effort to help Childline and the Hub Saidek continue in its tireless efforts to support troubled children and runaways, KIS donated money raised from last year's flood relief activities.
On Friday, October 19th, Khun Kanchalee, the Centre Manager of "The Hub" visited KIS to introduce her work with the homeless children at the Hub to the Diploma students. As a new CAS project, the students are going to provide activities for the children from the Hub here at KIS on Saturdays during November and December.
Her visit also gave us the opportunity to donate toiletries, clothes, Vitamin C and shoes and flip flops to the Hub. As a representative of Childline Thailand, KIS also very proudly presented her with a check for 70,000 Baht from the Flood Relief Fund.
Last year during the floods, the Hub had to close and the 24 hour telephone helpline run by Childline had to shut down. As a result, many children in need were not able to contact Childline during this time of crisis. The organisation had to invest over to 300,000 Baht for repairs and upgrades as a result to the flood. We are delighted that we can support this wonderful organisation by helping with a small portion of the cost the occurred, which will be benefiting children in need.
If you are able to support our Saturday activities with the children from the Hub, please contact Mr. Michel . We are looking for sponsors that can provide lunch for the children on six Saturday visits to KIS and accept cash donations for this. Every little bit helps!
