The Importance of Playing Outside

KIS children playing outdoors

Children develop intellectually, socially and cognitively in many different ways. A great benefit of having set recess times during school hours is to allow children to grow in these areas. The physical benefits are wonderful as well!

At KIS outside play is integrated into the PYP's daily routine. This allows the students to have free play in a safe, spacious and social environment. The children learn valuable communication skills which help them with negotiation, sharing, self-control and perseverance.

Walking around campus this afternoon it was great to not only see active imaginations exploring their surroundings, but the sounds of laughter and play were such a treat to listen to. Enjoy these photos from Wednesday afternoon!
