Grade 6 students in Humanities recently worked on a unit entitled "What are Earth Systems?" The Statement of Inquiry was: People's interactions with physical environments affect the sustainability of Earth's natural systems.
They conducted a case study about coastlines and then worked independently/in pairs to look at another Earth System. They were given the opportunity to express their understanding as either a model (with a written description), computer generated display (imovie or power-point) or artistic expression (a skit, a poem or a story that clearly demonstrates the statement of inquiry).
They then invited Grade 2 students and Grade 4 students to see their work.
