What is the International Baccalaureate?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit organization with offices around the world.
The IB organization offers challenging educational programmes for a worldwide community of 5,000+ schools aiming to create a better world. There are four coordinated programmes of study for students starting school all the way through to the end of high school.

International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme
The Primary Years Programme is for students from 3-11 years old it focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world around them.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma Programme is for students from 16-18 years old. It is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepare students for success at university and in life beyond.
International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme
The Middle Years Programme is for students from 11-16 years old it provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.
International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme
The Career-related Programme (CP) is a dual-enrollment programme for students in Grades 11-12 that have a strong interest in Sustainable Leadership, Sustainable Business, Art, or Design. Students take university-level courses and can earn university credits.
The IB Learner Profile
The IB learner profile is a key component of all IB programmes. It promotes attitudes and characteristics in students that develop international-mindedness. Students are encouraged to recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet and to help create a better and more peaceful world.
The learner profile provides long-term vision for education and is a set of ideals that can inspire, motivate and focus the work of the entire school community-students, teachers, administrators, and parents, uniting them in a common purpose of international-mindedness and global citizenship.
