Admissions
Visiting and Applying to KIS
As a parent, choosing the right school for your child is one of the most significant decisions you will make, and we understand the concerns, worries, and hopes that come with it. Our international community in Bangkok is large and dynamic, and we are honored that you are considering KIS for your child's education.
If you feel that KIS aligns with your family's values and goals, the application process can be conducted entirely online. Please follow the steps below to join our thriving learning community.
KIS uses OpenApply, an online application portal, which allows us to streamline all inquiries, visits, assessments and applications. You will be asked to create an account with your email address and a password. Please use the same details to log in each time.
The Application Process
The application process for admissions is as follows:
For Early Years 1 and Early Years 2 Applicants (Ages 3-4) click here for more information
For Early Years 3 (kindergarten) through Grade 12, please follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1 : Complete the Inquiry Form
In order for KIS International School to provide the best service possible, families are asked to first complete an Inquiry Form through our online portal. This should be done prior to a campus tour.
Step 2 : Complete the Application Form
Complete the application form and upload the necessary documents through our online Open Apply portal.
Step 3 : Schedule the Assessment/Family Interviews
The Admissions team will review your child's application and make the assessment and interview appointment with you via e-mail.
Learn more about our assessments
As part of the application process, parents and students will meet with a member of our academic team. This may be a Principal, Vice-Principal, or counselor.
The application is then reviewed by the Admissions Committee, taking into consideration all application, interview, and assessment criteria. Our goal is to support as many applicants as we can, while also maintaining a positive learning environment that supports all of the student's needs.
Step 4: Registration
Once a place is offered to a prospective student, the family will be given a time frame within one or two weeks to confirm his/her intention through a letter of acceptance and payment of registration fees.
Families moving from abroad
Families relocating from abroad, including those with children applying to the Early Years, who wish to tour KIS International School during their preview visit to Bangkok may complete the Application Process at that time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance we can give you, including a pick-up service from the airport or your hotel to our school.
For families who are moving from overseas but are unable to schedule a preview visit, an overseas assessment and interview can be conducted at a mutually convenient time.
Making the Most of Your Application
-
As an international school, we accept applications on a year-round and rolling basis.
-
We welcome applications at any time of the year, but recommend applying early as some classes may be full.
-
Please have all family members who are interested in seeing the school join the appointment for your visit.
-
Early Years 1 and 2 families located in Bangkok should apply during the set application periods.
-
Late application into Grade 11 and applications into Grade 12 are discouraged due to the nature of the IB curriculum.
-
Please complete the inquiry form before booking a tour.
-
We may not be able to accommodate you without an appointment.
