Counseling at KIS

On Friday, December 9th over 60 parents and guardians joined a parent workshop hosted by Amber Peirsol that aimed to equip families with tools and strategies to improve the communication between adults and children. The strategies were based on the book Positive Discipline by Dr. Jane Nelson, which the first semester book club had read. Book club members helped to facilitate conversations during the workshop and provided some of their experiences utilizing the strategies and tools.

On Friday, March 3rd KIS offered a Body Safety workshop to families aimed at those who had students in EY3-Grade 3. The purpose of this workshop was to share with families the language we teach at KIS around body safety, safe touch and healthy relationships. Families saw what students learn in their classes, and learned about how they can help support students in setting boundaries, and giving consent.
