Loy Krathong: A Celebration of Culture and Community at KIS

Our KIS community came together to honor the beautiful Thai tradition of Loy Krathong, celebrating gratitude and sustainability in unique and meaningful ways. From the captivating performances in both Primary and Secondary assemblies—including a special show by KISPA—to the creative activities across the campus, it was a day filled with cultural pride and unity.

In Primary, students floated their Krathongs on a "river" made of connected tables, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. Paddle pools were also set up for students to test their Krathongs, crafted from recycled materials as part of STEAM Week. Over in Secondary, students collaborated to create one magnificent Krathong during their Thai lessons. Even our youngest learners in EY Prep embraced the tradition with their own handcrafted Krathongs.

A heartfelt thanks to our amazing Thai Team and everyone involved for organizing such a vibrant celebration. Special appreciation to the Thai Music Team for their mesmerizing performance with traditional Thai instruments, which added to the rich cultural experience.

We also extend our gratitude to KISPA for their wonderful performance and for playing a key role in bringing this event to life.

Together, we created a Loy Krathong celebration to remember—one that truly highlighted the spirit of our community.
