DP Art Exhibition

DP Art Exhibition

Each year the visual arts DP students present an exhibition of their art as their two years of creative exploration come to an end. It marks the conclusion of an intensive educational art journey in preparation for university or creative career fields.  DP art students also investigated theoretical and conceptual approaches to making art, adding a depth of understanding and reflection that is central to the IB way of learning.

In this video, Ms. Jesse gives a brief overview of the exhibition and a sneak peek at some of the artwork.

We are very fortunate to be able to put on an actual exhibition, not a virtual one this year. Students showcased over 150 highly professional, creative, and powerful pieces working with a wide range of mediums such as digital, photography, murals, clay, drawing, and painting. Due to COVID and online learning, students got extra creative in demonstrating their artistry in digital ways, as opposed to the more traditional models of painting or clay.

Their art carries strong messages reflecting the maturity and compassion of KIS students—a true testament to the unique qualities of IB Learners. It is inspiring to see such beautiful artwork being made and presented on campus.

Many KIS students from all grade levels visited the exhibit, giving them an intimate art experience with real-life connections.

A big congratulations to our DP art students who will undoubtedly continue to use their passion and skill to impact their community. We can’t wait to see what they will create in the future! And kudos to DP art teacher, Ms. Jesse, for cultivating creativity and bringing out the best in your students.
