1 Million Baht IB Diploma Scholarship

In honour of KIS’s tenth anniversary, the school is offering a 1 Million Baht IB Diploma scholarship. The winner of this scholarship will be invited to study at KIS without paying the registration fee or any tuition for the duration of the IB Diploma programme, which lasts for two years (grades 11 and 12).

To qualify, you must currently be in grade 10, ready to enter grade 11 in August 2009. Applicants will be asked to sit an exam and undergo an interview. The scholarship will be awarded to the best student, provided the minimum level of achievement has been reached.

Candidates who do not receive the 1 Million Baht Scholarship, but who perform above expectations, may be eligible for a partial scholarship.

The IB Diploma Programme is for students 16-18 years. The IB Diploma is an international pre-university qualification that is accepted and preferred by colleges and universities world-wide. Students considering taking the A-levels or pursuing university studies in the UK should especially consider this opportunity as the UCAS conversion scores can be highly advantageous for Diploma graduates.

Courses completed during the IB Diploma Programme may even provide you with credits towards the first year (up to a year) of your college education. Please do come to talk with us if you would like more information about the IB Diploma and University acceptance.

The IB Diploma is a balanced programme, where students take three subjects at a higher level plus three subjects at a standard level. In addition, you will have to write a 4,000 word extended essay, participate in Theory of Knowledge classes, and do activities related to creativity, action and service. The programme is academically rigorous, but it prepares you well for university and life after that.

Applications should be at the admissions office no later than May 1 2009. Scholarship testing will be scheduled between May 6 and 15. The announcement of the winner of the scholarship will be made on May 25, 2009
