KIS Hosts Bangkok Student NetworkKIS hosted the first meeting of the Bangkok Student Network (BSN) of the current school year on Monday, February 8th. The BSN is a revived initiative on the part of Student Council advisors of international schools in the Greater Bangkok area. The BSN aims to forge links between Student Councils, collaborate and communicate about service ideas, and create larger fund-raising and charity initiatives in the Bangkok area. Each of the ten participating schools did a two-minute presentation on who they are and their ongoing activities and initiatives. The forty elementary and secondary student representative then challenged themselves to create a list of aims and goals of the network, plus activities they can do in order to achieve their goals. The overall aim of the BSN is to have a completely student-led network, with the staff advisors merely serving as guides to the students. The students will begin to formalize the network, including a marketing strategy, a logo design and a decision on how frequent further meetings will be held. We hope this will be a great event to promote active and responsible student leadership.
