Information Technology

KIS provides students and staff with a technology-rich teaching and learning environment, combined with best practices that result in higher levels of achievement for all students. Students have access to computers in their classrooms, in separate IT labs for Primary School and Secondary School, as well as in the libraries. Printers, scanners and DVD burners are located in all labs, libraries and offices. All printers are connected on the network and the print management system. Digital cameras, video cameras, laptops and projectors are available for school projects.

IT instruction focuses on the use of a variety of technologies to access, analyze, interpret, synthesize, apply and communicate information, thus enabling students to become effective problem-solvers and decision-makers. Students apply IT skills to what they are learning in their classes, supporting the research phase of their inquiry process, as well as developing higher order thinking skills. On line research and electronic presentation, data processing and communication are increasingly used in the educational programme at KIS.

Students don’t merely learn how to use software and hardware that will become outdated, but learn to apply technology to facilitate expression and understanding.

Understanding the important issues of a technology-based society and the importance of exhibiting ethical behavior in the use of computer and technology is emphasized at KIS.
