The faculty is made up of an international and diverse body consisting of both Native English and bilingual teachers and teaching assistants. They are selected on their educational qualifications and related professional experience and are hired from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa plus other countries, on a standard 2 year contract. All teaching teams include staff qualified for the specific age group. KIS provides IB training and professional development to ensure continued facilitation of up-to-date academic research and to support best practice. The faculty works closely together and collaborates with colleagues in all areas, including planning, assessing and delivering the curriculum. This team teaching approach provides teachers with peer support and allows them to model team work, cooperation and collegiality to the students.

KIS is also pleased to have the distinction of having 2 IBO Certified PYP Teacher Trainers currently working at our school. In this capacity, our PYP Trainers can promote PYP to IB Schools in Asia, assist with accreditation visits and lead PYP workshops.
